FACE TO FACE SESSIONS AVAILABLE AT EC1V
I’m an experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor and an accredited member of BACP. I work
with individuals and couples and have had success with a wide range of issues including
anxiety, depression, relationships, self-confidence, self-esteem, and significant loss.
I’ve also worked substantially with life transitions, both personal and career.
I’ve provided therapy services within a wide range of settings including Mind, NHS,
various Government departments, and have previously managed a counselling agency
providing brief therapy.
I offer brief and open-ended therapy depending on your needs, and reasons for coming to
therapy. Mostly, brief therapy tends to work best when you’re wanting to focus on a
single, specific issue. Open-ended therapy may be a better frame when there are a number
of areas in your life that need attenting, or when there is trauma and multiple
unresolved issues from the past.
offer a discrete and relaxed atmosphere in which you can feel at ease to share what’s
troubling you.
My core training is in gestalt therapy, an approach equally suited for working with
unresolved feelings, difficult life experiences, or unhelpful thinking patterns.
Ultimately, the focus will always be to help you move forward in any area of your life
you’d like to experience differently.
My approach is based on creating a safe space for you to share what’s troubling you, work through unresolved issues or challenging life situations and gain new perspectives to make the changes you feel are right for you. I value connection and trust, which makes it possible to work through difficult feelings and find new ways of dealing with challenging situations.
How we work will be completely individual to your needs as no life situation is ever experienced in the same way by two different people. I like to understand what’s important to each person and connect at whatever level you feel your life needs attending to. This could mean processing unresolved feelings and difficult life experiences, exploring relationships, working through unhelpful beliefs and thinking patterns, or moving forward from a difficult place.
I tend to work in the here-and-now as it’s only in the present that we can make changes, let go of old patterns, wounds, painful memories and unhelpful beliefs and be able to create something different.
